Victorian Government VET Student Enrolment Privacy Notice

The Victorian Government, through the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Region (the Department), develops, monitors and funds vocational education and training (VET) in Victoria. The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring that Victorians have access to appropriate and relevant VET services. Any personal information collected by the Department for VET purposes is protected in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

Collection of your data
Hammond Institute Pty Ltd is required to provide the Department with student and training activity data. This includes personal information collected in the enrolment form and unique identifiers such as the Victorian Student Number (VSN) and the Commonwealth’s Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Hammond Institute Pty Ltd provides data to the Department in accordance with the Victorian VET Student Statistical Collection Guidelines, available at https://www.vic.gov.au/training-data-collection
Use of your data
The Department uses student and training data, including personal information, for a range of VET purposes including administration, monitoring and planning, including interaction between the Department and Student where appropriate.
The data may also be subjected to data analytics, which seek to determine the likelihood of certain events occurring (such as program or subject completion), which may be relevant to the services provided to the student.
Disclosure of your data
As necessary and where lawful, the Department may disclose VET data, including personal information, to its contractors, other government agencies, professional bodies and/or other organisations for VET-related purposes. This includes disclosure of VET student and training data to the Commonwealth and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).
Legal and Regulatory
The Department’s collection and handling of enrolment data and VSNs is authorised under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The Department is also authorised to collect and handle USIs in accordance with the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth) and the Student Identifiers Regulation 2014 (Cth).
Survey participation
You may be contacted to participate in a survey conducted by NCVER or a Department-endorsed project, audit or review relating to your training. This provides valuable feedback on the delivery of VET programs in Victoria.
Please note you may opt out of the NCVER survey at the time of being contacted.
Consequences of not providing your information
Failure to provide your personal information may mean that it is not possible for you to enroll in VET and/or to obtain a Victorian Government VET subsidy
Access, correction and complaints
You have to right to seek access to or correction of your own personal information. You may also complain if you believe your privacy has been breached.

• I confirm that I have completed a pre training review session with one of Hammond Institute Pty Ltd's qualified personnel before completing this Enrolment form
• I declare that the information I have provided in this enrolment application form and the pre-training review form is to the best of my knowledge and are true and correct.
• I acknowledge that I understand that my enrolment with Hammond Institute Pty Ltd under Skills First program may affect my future entitlement for government subsidised training
• I confirm that I feel confident that I have chosen the right course.
• I acknowledge that I have been provided with all the information regarding the qualification/course that I am enrolling in including but not limited to duration, location, mode of delivery and work placement (if applicable).
• I acknowledge that I am required to obtain the necessary security checks (Police Check, Working with the Children Check) prior to the commencement of work placement in order to successfully complete the course(s) (if relevant).
• I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to read and understand the contents of the student handbook, policies and procedures and timetable and to abide by them
• I acknowledge that I understand and have been provided with information in relation to Credit Transfer and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) and that the approval of my application for credit transfer and/or RPL will affect my course duration and fees.
• I acknowledge that Hammond Institute reserves their right to cancel or postpone any course should there be insufficient enrolments and will be refunded in full or in part of any pre-paid fees (if applicable).
• I acknowledge that I am required to maintain satisfactory progression throughout my course.
• I acknowledge and agree that Hammond Institute will not be liable for any accident or injury which occurs in the course of any course-related excursion and I indemnify Hammond Institute for any loss or damage through any act of negligence from myself.
• I acknowledge that I am responsible to notify Hammond Institute when I decide to withdraw, defer or suspend/cancel enrolment for any reason.
• I acknowledge that Hammond Institute reserves the right to accept or reject this enrolment application at its discretion.
• I acknowledge that I am bound by Hammond Institute’s rules and regulations and any amendments made to the rules and regulations including but not limited to any potential changes in fees during the course.
• I acknowledge that the Institute’s full list of policy that relate to my studies can be found on its website as well as in their reception and that it is my responsibility to fully understand and become familiar with these policies.
• I agree to pay all fees and charges relating to my enrolment.
• I acknowledge that I have read and understood Hammond Institute Access and Equity Policy.
